Alexandra Harbold

Alexandra Harbold is Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Flying Bobcat Theatrical Laboratory and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Theatre at the University of Utah. Previously for the Department of Theatre, she directed You Never Can Tell; Self Defense, or death of some salesmen; The Owl Girl; Love Alone; and The Eccentrics. Recent projects include: directing Ion (Greek Classical Theatre Festival) Climbing with Tigers (Flying Bobcat and Salt Lake Acting Company), Picnic (The Grand Theatre), Tribes (SLAC); dramaturging The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, The Last Ship, An Inspector Calls and I Hate Hamlet (Pioneer Theatre Company); and acting in Hand to God (Salt Lake Acting Company). Upcoming projects include: acting in UtahPresents’ staged reading of Molly Sweeney, co-directing Jump (Plan-B Theatre with Flying Bobcat Theatrical Laboratory and the David Fetzer Ross Foundation for Emerging Artists), and directing Macbeth and a new adaptation of Gorky’s The Lower Depths by Christopher Madsen (Pinnacle Acting Company). Education: Masters, University of London Goldsmiths College; BA, Middlebury College, Vermont; she is an alumna of the SITI Summer Intensive, Skidmore College, New York; BADA Midsummer at Oxford, Balliol College; and the Plan-B Theatre/Meat & Potato Theatre Directors’ Laboratory.
