Colleen Hirst has worked for the University of Utah since 2005. She started at the U’s Campus Store and transferred to the Department of Theatre in 2009. In her current position she is responsible for processing employee hires and keeping track of the budget.
Colleen has worked in accounting for thirty years, she started at her dad’s small TV shop where she kept the books and ordered parts. During her time there she found a passion this type of work and went to a private college to earn her accounting degree. After completing her studies, she worked in California at a company that built toy crane machines where she worked with accounts for the drivers that maintained machines. Later she worked at a construction company associated with army bases in the accounts payable department.
Today, Colleen is happily married and lives in Millcreek where she enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with her five children and one grandchild.
