    Thank you for your interest in the MTP!  We’ve made a number of exciting changes to our curriculum over the last few years, responding both to changes in the industry and our students’ long-term professional goals.  We believe in serving our students as individuals, preparing them for the profession as it exists currently, and most importantly, helping them set and meet goals for their lives as artists and humans.  We are passionate about maintaining a rigorous program of study while honoring the challenges our world has to offer.  We look forward to meeting you at one of our many audition locations this season!

Conservatory-style, full BFA 

Our immersive, rigorous musical theatre education will prepare you for a professional career while rounding out your experience with general education, making future opportunity limitless.   

Earn professional credits 

In addition to our robust departmental production season, our location in Salt Lake City allows students the opportunity to earn professional credits while studying at the U. Students in good standing may seek permission from their area head to audition for roles at Pioneer Theatre Company, Salt Lake Acting Company, and Hale Center Theatre amongst others.

Our craft-based curriculum offers rich, diverse voice, dance, acting and musical theatre studio training while closely monitoring individual progress and growth.

Learn from our renowned faculty, who have major Broadway, Off-Broadway, tour and regional credits along with nationally recognized research. Pair this education with practical experience while also learning from prestigious guest artists and scholars, helping you move towards your professional goals.
