Adapted by PETER MILLS & CARA REICHEL from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night

This musical re-telling of one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies, Twelfth Night, captures both the rollicking energy of the play’s hilarious hijinks and its deeply felt emotions of loss and unrequited love.

Twin siblings Viola and Sebastian are traveling by sea when a storm destroys their ship, stranding Viola on the shores of Illyria. Alone, uncertain of her brother's fate, and determined to survive in spite of her grief and misfortune, Viola uses Sebastian's clothes to disguise herself as a man. Now identical in appearance to her missing brother, Viola enters into the service of the handsome, lovelorn Duke Orsino, who yearns for the affections of the lovely Lady Olivia. When Orsino sends Viola on an errand to woo Olivia on his behalf, Olivia rejects Orsino's advances; instead, Olivia finds herself captivated by Orsino's young and handsome servant—Viola.

Elsewhere in Olivia's household, her officious steward Malvolio and his teetotaling ways have provoked the ire of Olivia's charming and dissolute uncle Sir Toby Belch, his guileless friend Sir Andrew Aguecheek, and Olivia's witty maid Maria. Soon enough, Viola's lost brother reappears, turning her love triangle into a quadrangle and complicating matters for the bawdy trio of Toby, Andrew, and Maria as they conspire to exact their revenge. All the while, Feste—the wisest fool in Illyria—narrates the proceedings and lends the occasional helping hand.
