    Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Stage Management Certification. This emphasis is an exciting, rigorous program where all theatre disciplines intersect. You'll gain hands-on experience on a variety of projects and working with all the other areas of study within our department. 

    Join our incredible cohort of stage managers and enjoy opportunities in our Meldrum Theatre, Babcock Theatre, and Studio 115, as well as with the U’s Dance and Opera departments. The Stage Management Certificate is an excellent option for students to specialize in Stage Management while exploring other aspects of theatre in our Bachelor or Arts and Bachelor of Science programs.

The Stage Management Certificate provides students with advanced training in the art and practice of theatrical stage management. Through a combination of coursework and production experience, students develop expertise in theatrical terminology, production processes, leadership, collaboration, communication, and organizational management. The certificate emphasizes goal setting, task delegation, problem solving, and the ability to support artistic teams while ensuring the successful execution of theatrical productions.
